- Mike McCrackin, Owner, CEO
Mike is the owner and CEO of Harvey’s. He grew up in the agricultural community and started working at Harvey’s in 1970. He started at the ground floor and worked his way all the way up eventually becoming the sole owner. Since his ownership, Mike has grown the business to support over 60 employees and serves customers across the state. His hands-on approach has made it easy for employees and customers to talk to the boss. Mike is proud of the Harvey’s staff, the contributions the business makes to the community and the services it offers to customers. Mike also serves on the Michigan Agribusiness Association Board of Directors.
- Jim Sheppard, President
Jim has been in the ag business for over 30 years, beginning in sales with Stauffer Chemical, then a small seed company, and prior to joining Harvey’s team, 15 years with UAP. Jim is a proud alum of Michigan State University with a degree in Crop Science.
- Larry Dassance, Operations Manager
Larry coordinates all of Harvey’s custom application and product delivery. He started working for Harvey’s in 2005. Previously, he managed a farm. Larry graduated from Michigan State University with a two-year degree in Ag Industries.
- Vic Sheets, Agronomy Consultant
Before coming to Harvey’s in 2009, Vic worked for Helena and managed a potato farm. Vic uses his more than 25 years of experience to serve Montcalm and Isabella counties. He specializes in potatoes, dry beans, peas, Christmas Trees, corn, wheat and soybeans.

- Jim Thurlow, Agronomy Consultant
Prior to joining Harvey’s in 2008, Jim had 24 years experience in the industry. Jim worked for CPS and Zeeb Fertilizers before joining Harvey’s team. He services Clinton, Gratiot and Shiawassee counties.
- Daniel Lindquist, Feed Consultant, Nutritionist
Daniel has worked for Harvey’s since 1994. Prior to Harvey’s he managed a dairy farm. Daniel graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Animal Science. Daniel is a nutritionist and feed salesman. He services a large number of counties in Michigan.
- Scott Hipolite, Agronomy Consultant
Scott has been at Harvey’s since 2006. He serves five counties: Clinton, Gratiot, Isabella, Midland and Montcalm. Scott has experience with pickles as well as corn, soybeans and wheat.
- Tom Kreiner, Agronomy Consultant
Tom started at Harvey’s in 2007 with 34 years experience in the agriculture industry. He has been a manager at various other business for several years. He works in Sanilac, Lapeer, St. Clair, Shiawassee, Livingston, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, and Clinton counties.
- Steve Wagester, Agronomy Sales Agent
Steve and his wife live and farm in Remus, Michigan. He is a sales agent for Harvey’s; farming full time and working as a salesman on the side. He farms corn, drybeans, and wheat.
- Greg Wright, Nutritionist, Feed Consultant
Greg has worked at Harvey’s since 2005 specializing in dairy. He has over 15 years experience in the feed industry prior to joining Harvey’s.
- Alan Peters, Risk Management, Commodity Merchandising
Before joining Harvey’s team in 2008, Alan worked in the industry for 18 years. After graduating from MSU with a BA in Agribusiness Management, he previously worked for Perdue Farms in Maryland.
- Amanda Hassenger, Feed Consultant
Amanda has had two internships with Harvey’s. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2010 with a BS in Animal Science. Before Harvey’s, Amanda worked at Michiana Agra LLC. for three years. She gives Nutritional Seminars to 4-H clubs and showed animals at fairs for 12 years.
Along with the sales staff and management listed above we also have a talented and organized group of office personnel who take care of accounting activities, human resources, customer support and other tasks.
We also have several people behind the scenes taking care of deliveries, custom application, working in the retail store and garden center, mixing and bagging feed, and serving customers.
